This is what she had to say about who has mentored her along the way in her professional nanny career:

When I started nannying in 1997, I didn't even know I was a nanny! Where I lived, there were no nannies. I considered myself to be babysitting these kids full time. Online, I met a woman named Susan who lived on the other side of the state, who clued me in that..duh..I was a nanny! Long story short, it was Susan who introduced me to the nanny life. Taught me about contracts, taxes,car usage, etc. Through her I became a member of my first nanny support group, NAN. She had created a yahoogroup for local nannies, and in the end I ended up taking a job near her and we have been friends for over 10 years now. While Susan is no longer working as a nanny, she was in the profession for over 10 years and I do credit her for my 12 year (so far!) nanny career.
