What is your favorite grown up book that you can read over and over again and never get tired of it.

Becky Kavanagh: Anything written by Jane Austin . . . I just love her writing! And on that same not anything written by Fannie Flagg - again she's amazing!

Tara Lindsay: I can read Wuthering Heights forever. I also love Laurie Notaro's non-fiction books (they always crack me up!). "P.S. I love you" by Cecilia Ahern (which is far, far, far better than the movie could have ever hoped to be), and "Introduction to the Devout Life" by St. Francis de Sales.

Jennifer Gay: Grown up books I can read over and over. The Twilight series and anything by Nicholas Sparks

April Krause: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee  and The Diary of Anne Frank

Beth Taylor: Probably the Babysitters Club series..LOL.

Donna Saunders:anything by Julie Garwood

 I love Biographies- and can only read non-fiction.
Becky Kavanagh: Summer is my time to reread all my favorites - Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Fried Green Tomatoes . . . you see my obsession?! I indulge in it during the summer. I also try to include a few mysteries just to bring in some variety. HA!!

Tara Lindsay: I don't plan ahead much in my reading...I pretty much just go with whatever appeals to me at the moment. I read 4-5 books a week as it is.

April Krause: The Help,The Red Tent Biography of Anne Frank’s step-sister

 Beth Taylor: Pick up the rest of the Yada Yada prayer group series at the library and continue and complete that series

Summer Reading for ALL ages!

When you think of summer you think … picnics, pool days, sunscreen, bike rides, beach vacation, right? What about reading? Kids do so much reading during the school year, WHY would they want to spend their summer reading? Reading helps maintain and build skills so they are prepared when the school year starts up again. Many schools even require summer reading. Reading can be enjoyable for all, and you will even be able to make a dent in that stack of books you’ve wanted to read since holiday break.

Summer Reading Programs
Check out your local public library for summer reading program. Many community libraries offer programs for children of all ages with incentives for reading the most books.


Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program

Fostering a love of reading and its rewards, the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is popular with students in the first through sixth grades and educators throughout America.
Participation is fun and an easy way for kids to earn free books. They simply read any eight books – library books, books borrowed from friends or books bought at Barnes & Noble – write about their favorite part, and bring a completed tear page to a Barnes & Noble bookstore. Children then choose their free book from a list of paperback titles.

Our 2010 program features Scholastic's best-selling multi-media adventure series 'The 39 Clues'. Authors Rick Riordan, Gordon Korman, Peter Lerangis, Jude Watson, Patrick Carman, Linda Sue Park, and Margaret Peterson Haddix will make appearances at select stores across the country, and will also participate in a Summer Reading blog at Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com/summerreading), where they will post about summer reading memories and children's literacy. The free program kicks off in Barnes & Noble stores across the country May 25 and continues through September 6. Teachers, parents and children can download the Summer Reading materials for free at www.bn.com/summerreading.

Borders offers their Double Dog Dare Summer Reading Program for kids 12 and under.

Scholastic is challenging young readers to join them and help break the world record.
